World Steel Association: in January 2021, the global crude steel production increased by 4.8% year on year

In january2021, the crude steel output of 64 countries included in the statistics of the world iron and Steel Association was 162.9 million tons, an increase of 4.8% year on year.

 

In January, the crude steel production in Africa was 1.2 million tons, down 7.9% year on year.

 

The statistics included: Egypt, Libya, South Africa.

 

Crude steel production in Asia and Oceania was 119 million tons in January, up 6.3% year on year.

 

The statistics included: Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, China.

 

The crude steel production in CIS region in January was 9.2 million tons, up 4.5% year on year.

 

The statistics included Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

 

Crude steel production in the EU region in January was 12.2 million tons, down 0.4% year on year.

 

The statistics included 27 EU Member States.

 

The crude steel production in other European countries in January was 4.4 million tons, an increase of 11.2% year on year.

 

The statistics included: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Turkey, UK.

 

The crude steel production in the Middle East in January was 3.6 million tons, up 1.5% year on year.

 

The statistics included: Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

 

The crude steel production in North America in January was 9.6 million tons, down 7% year on year.

 

The statistics included Canada, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and the United States.

 

The crude steel production in South America in January was 3.8 million tons, an increase of 11.4% year on year.

 

The statistics included Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

 

The above areas contain data submitted by 64 steel producing countries, with the output accounting for 99% of the global crude steel production in 2019.
