According to the latest report of the steel producers association of Iran, the output of finished and semi-finished steel products in the first eight months (March 21 November 21, 2019) of Iran's fiscal year 2019 was 30.98 million tons, up 5.82% year on year.

Among them, the output of semi-finished steel products was 17.42 million tons, up 5% year on year. Among the semi-finished steel products, the output of billet is 10.25 million tons, up 11% year on year; the output of slab is 7.17 million tons, down 3% year on year.

The output of finished steel was 13.55 million tons, up 7% year on year. Among them, the output of plates is 6.8 million tons, accounting for the largest proportion of the output of finished steel, with a year-on-year growth of 4%. The output of hot rolled coil is 5.71 million tons, up 3% year on year; the output of cold rolled coil is 1.71 million tons, up 4% year on year; the output of coated coil is 1.09 million tons, up 20% year on year.

The output of long timber is 6.75 million tons, up 9% year on year. Among them, the proportion of steel bars is the largest, with the output of 5.45 million tons, up 9% year on year;

Meanwhile, the output of DRI was 18.55 million tons, up 7% year on year.

According to the latest data from the World Steel Association, Iran's crude steel production in the first 10 months of 2019 was 21.5 million tons, up 6.2% year-on-year, making it the world's tenth largest steel producer.
