2020-03-31

According to foreign media reports, the state-owned steel producer sail has cut steel production by as much as 10% as a result of India's ongoing blockade against the coronavirus crisis. With an annual steel production capacity of over 21 million tons, sail can produce about 50000 tons of molten iron and 48000 tons of coarse steel every day.

Affected by the epidemic blockade, the raw material transportation and product land transportation of sail company are facing difficulties. The company has reduced its steel production by 7-10%. Sail is continuously monitoring the supply, production and transportation of raw materials.

In addition, according to foreign media reports, Vizag Steel Company of India suspended a blast furnace operation according to the requirements of the government's epidemic control. Vizag steel, India's main producer of long products, has produced 18000 tons of molten iron per day for its three blast furnaces, but the suspension of operation of the blast furnace will lead to a decline in capacity utilization.
