World Steel Association: global crude steel output in June 2020 decreased by 7.0% year on year

In June 2020, the crude steel output of 64 countries included in the world iron and Steel Association statistics was 148.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.0%. As the impact of the outbreak continues, many of the production data released this month are estimates and we may revise the data in the next month's production report.

In the first half of 2020, the global crude steel output will be 873.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.0%. Among them, the crude steel output in the first half of the year in Asia was 642 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.0%; the crude steel output in the European Union was 68.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 18.7%; the crude steel output in North America in the first half of the year was 50.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 17.6%.

 

In June 2020, China's crude steel output was 91.6 million tons, up 4.5% year-on-year; India's was 6.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 26.3%; Japan's was 5.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 36.3%; South Korea's output of crude steel was 5.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14.3%.

 

In June 2020, the crude steel output in Germany was 2.5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 27.3%; that of Italy was 1.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13.0%; that of France and Spain was 800000 tons, with a year-on-year decrease of 34.9% and 31.5%.

 

In June 2020, crude steel production in the United States was 4.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 34.5%.

 

In June 2020, the CIS crude steel output is estimated to be 7.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.0%; Ukraine's crude steel output is 1.8 million tons, an increase of 9.0% year-on-year.

 

In June 2020, Turkey's crude steel output was 2.8 million tons, up 4.1% year on year.
