In August, global crude steel production decreased by 1.4% year-on-year

On September 23, the world iron and Steel Association (WSA) released the global crude steel production data in August. In August, the crude steel output of 64 countries and regions included in the statistics of the world steel association was 156.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.4%. This is the first year-on-year decline in global crude steel production in 13 months.

 

In August, the output of crude steel in Africa was 1.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 38.2%; Crude steel production in Asia and Oceania was 112.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.3%; The crude steel output in the CIS region was 8.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%; EU crude steel output was 11.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 27.1%; The crude steel output of other European countries was 4.5 million tons, an increase of 11.7% year-on-year; The crude steel output in the Middle East was 3.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.9%; The crude steel output in North America was 10.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 24.4%; The output of crude steel in South America was 4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%.
